1) Screenshots for posted puzzles / replays
This isn’t so much of a question, but I’ve noticed that some of you are making your own screenshots for posting puzzles. Actually — the game auto-generates thumbnails! They’re inside the thumbnail directory under Custom Puzzles/Thumbnails and Replays/Thumbnails.

2) Eets banner
If you think Eets is cool and would like to pass on the word, you can go to our “Help out the Eets Community” page for some ideas and banners!

3) Mods
It was always my secret hope that the community would be curious enough to try to mod Eets, so we built Eets to be mod friendly. For example, you can add new items, animations, platforms and music to the game without needing a patch. However, we haven’t determined a good way to share the mods yet, and there’s scant documentation. Let me know if you guys are interested!

4) Suggestions on Puzzles to play
If you’re looking for puzzles to play, there are 2 suggestions I have. You can either go to the puzzles listing and sort by rating, or you can find a puzzle you really enjoy, and click on the profile of the person who made them. For example, you can go to my profile, and check out the 40 odd puzzles I’ve added to the community.

5) It’s Christmas! Thus, we have the Christmas Marshomech.

Alright, it’s Christmas Eve, and I really have to get going. Keep posting your questions and I’ll do my best to field them!

  1. It’d be fun making own items for Eets for sure. I guess I’ll try to try to figure out some stuff soon. :)

  2. You need to give instructions for people to edit all the asset images, not just the background/foreground images, if you want people to really mod it. Then the objects and their little animations can be made to fit with their surroundings in a full mod.
Its a contagious enough game at the moment. If you did that and had a mechanism for importing a mod with all different textures and entity animations this game would be still going strong in a couple years simply on the strength of new content created by players. If you made the documentation easy enough a five year old could probably learn how to mod the game, so why not do that and let 5 year olds mod it?

  3. Hey Chris — yes, I completely agree that we need instructions on how to mod Eets. We’re actually looking into how we’re going to distribute mods on our website, to avoid things like messing up the install of Eets and such.

We also need to distribute a couple tools that really help in the making of mods.

Thanks for the interest! I’m psyched that people want to try creating their own items and such :)

  4. Modding… I am interested!

Though, you would have to be careful you don’t make a puzzle with all your own items, and then someone else who doesn’t have your items might play it, and crash their game…
