Microsoft sent out a Press Release today, announcing ten new titles for the Xbox 360 Live Arcade, and notably, there’s this little game there called “Eets: Chowdown”. There are some other titles in that list, but of course we’re all way more interested in the one with the bubbly little eating thing :D

So here we are, announcing that Eets is going on the Xbox 360 Live Arcade. That’s incredibly exciting news for us! We’ve completely revamped the control scheme to work smoothly with the controller (in fact some of us even prefer it to the mouse), it’s presented in HD glory, it’s got new items, new levels, new action-game, new special effects, new scoring system… the works.

To be honest, I’ve been itching to tell everyone about this for ages — we even hinted at it months ago — and now that we’ve announced it I just can’t wait to get it in people’s hands to play it. I’d love to tell you all about the details of the game, but that would be ruining the fun, wouldn’t it? ;) Instead, I’ll tease you with some screenshots and a nice, big fat wallpaper:

  5. Maaan! Does that mean that you can’t play it if you just have a computer :(

  6. Awesome looks good.

Sooo what does that mean for us PC owners. Will we get a patch with the new content? Also - does it include a level designer?

  7. That’s sweeeeet! Of course, I’m a Nintendo loyalist to the end, and don’t even have Sony or Microsoft systems. It’d be sweet if Nintendo Wii picked it up too. The Wiimote could do some fantasmal things with it. I too am wondering about PC version updates??

  8. To answer the looming question:

Eets: Chowdown was actually months and months of work for us, with almost non-stop late nights. So, in a large way, Eets: Chowdown is actually a whole new product, and economically we simply can’t release this as a patch on the PC. That is, unless we want Klei to go under and never make any games again :P

That being said, we’re really quite in love with our community and I personally make an effort to support it everyday. With mods on the horizon, and CheesyRamen’s constant support, there’s still a lot to be enjoyed on the PC! 300 levels and 400 replays is nothing to sneeze at ;)

Thanks for voicing your concerns — keep them coming! We always keep you guys in mind when we make our decisions.

  9. Well… If it’s an economical question I can pay. I don’t know… Don’t you think that enough PC users would be willing to pay?

  10. Ah! Understood! Well, I hope to see some great stuff on this front too. I can certainly see that it being on a console makes it entirely different. I personally think that games like this work great on the computer anyway. Being that it can be updated anytime. Given enough time, this version will become even better than it’s console brother(s) ;) Never the less, being on a console is SOOOOO great, I must congradulate all you guys in Klei.

  13. And what about that one: screenshot18.png ? It looks like it’s a completly new game too. Is it seperated from Eets? And will that be available for PC?

  15. Ok, Eets Fantastic news! And I’m so excited to know about Eets Chowdown. From the screenshots it looks like an entirely new game. Of course, I’m just another Eets lover hoping to see the pc version of Eets Chowdown. And from the other comments, looks like lot of us are hoping the same.

Another question, what is ‘Marsho-Madness’? is it a action game category within Eets Chowdown?

And you said, “With mods on the horizon..” now that’s pretty tempting :) looking forward to that.
