Since the launch of Eets, like how Scared Eets creeps along platforms, the word has been getting out about Eets. Take for example, the Eets reviews that have popped up within the past several months (in alphabetical order):

4 Color Rebellion

8 marshmallows out of 10 (awesome touch!)

“Everything about Klei Entertainment’s PC puzzle-platformer, Eets, is vibrant and playful.”

The kind folks at 4cr have always supported Eets for the longest time; you should check out their website!

Game Overdrive

8.6 / 10

“. . . just don’t absorb yourself into the addictive labyrinths of the game; you’ll certainly end up losing your valuable sleep as I have been robbed . . .”

An awesome, in-depth review. One of the complaints was that the music was repetitive, which to an extent is true (the reviewer mentioned there was only one music track; there’s actually 4 music tracks in Eets :P )

Gamespy (Download This! Feature)

“Eets is a nifty title that’ll both entertain you and make you think really hard.”

It’d also rock if they had an official review for Eets, but appearing on Gamespy’s Download This! feature is also pretty good. :)

GameTunnel

9 / 10 - Game of the Month, Editor’s Choice Award

“Eets to me feels like the Incredible Machine, but with a more puzzle-like approach and even more incredible results.”

One of the biggest indy game review sites out there, not only did we get Game of the Month for indie games, we’re also the 10th game ever to receive an Editor’s Choice award from them and the first this year! Thanks guys!

Gamezebo

4 out of 5 stars

“Eets greatest strength is its flawless visual design, capped by the game’s leading … err … thing.”

Ok, we’re not exactly sure what Eets is as well . . . so we’ll leave it up to your imagination to figure out what Eets actually is!

Guardian Unlimited

“Many indie scene watchers are already calling this the game of the year

Wow, that’s some high praise!

Independent Gaming

“The production value is impressive from top to bottom.”

Jay is Games

“Eets is an amazingly addictive action/puzzle downloadable game…”

The reviewer mentioned how he loved the Puzzle Maker and in fact made some levels for our Community. Feel free to send Bard some goodies for his levels! :)

NZGamer

9 / 10

“It’s indie, it’s oddball, it’s creative and clever.”

PC Gameworld

9 / 10

“A unique, fun and quality puzzle game well worth the modest price of admission.”

One of the bigger sites out there that’s reviewed Eets. They say that a “low” of the game is that it’s addictive, so be careful! Eets can be rather addictive! ;)

And, to maintain netruality with all the good reviews, here’s a “bad” one to balance things out:

Gibbage

0%

“Just because Eets looks ******* gorgeous and plays like candy floss sprinkled with sugar and hundreds-and-thousands, doesn’t make it worthy of your time or money.”

hmm… perhaps the reviewer forgot to add the 10 before the 0%? :)

As a company, while Klei Entertainment doesn’t have the army of programmers or a million dollar budget like the big-name game companies, it’s been refreshing to know from reading these reviews that the little guys, with a little love and care, can still make fun, nice-looking games. With that said though, we’d like to thank everyone who’s said a good word about Eets or encouraged us along the way. It makes us feel good knowing that our endless amount of work on Eets has put smiles on peoples’ faces. :)

What do you think about these reviews? Are there any other ones out there we may have missed?

With all the good reviews though, we’re not just going to sit back and relax. I’ll give you a few screenshots to show what’s in store for Eets soon. ;) Enjoy!

  1. Eets was in the September ‘06 issue of Computer Games Magazine, where I got the demo and read the 4 1/2 star review. Thought I’d mention another good review.

I glossed over this one over at JIG and wish I hadn’t done so, maybe I could have won a copy from the contest. Would have liked that.

    Good work, guys.
